Therapies

EMDR – Trauma Therapy
EMDR is a highly effective trauma therapy developed by Francine Shapiro in the US. Using bilateral stimulation (lateral eye movements, hand-tapping or audio stimulation) it is possible to access and process traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences and find an adaptive resolution. After successful treatment, emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated and physical stress responses are reduced. EMDR treatment helps to stimulate each person’s inherent self-healing capacity.
Polyvagal Theory – Porges
Polyvagal Theory is based on the function of the vagus nerve and its role regulating emotions and calming the nervous system. Using specific techniques like acupressure, massages and Qi Gong/Yoga exercises this nerve can be toned and its function improved. Anxiety will be reduced, panic attacks can be controlled in a more efficient way and the overall physical and mental well-being will improve.

Communication is key. Expressing your worries is the first step to alleviate mental stress and problems. Every person can alter the way he/she thinks and improve his/her life vastly. With the support of a trained psychologist this process will be faster and easier. But the client will always stay the expert of his own feelings and emotions.

  • In Traditional Chinese Medicine and other Asian healing techniques it is known for centuries that body and mind cannot be separated from each other. A healthy mind is strongly connected to a healthy body and vice versa. Traumatic experiences not only affect our mental but also our physical wellbeing. It is therefore necessary to treat the mind and the body holistically to get sustainable results. Healing massages, breathwork and meditation are but a few techniques I use to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of my clients.
Lifestyle Coaching (in nature)
Prevention is better than cure! Act before problems get bigger and bigger. Even small lifestyle changes can have a big effect on your overall wellbeing and mental health. Clients in Germany can opt for counselling in nature. Apart from the natural healing qualities of nature, a calm walk in the forest while getting problems off your chest will not only calm your nervous system but will also be a perfect counterbalance to long office days.

In my work I always consider both body and mind in order to develop a holistic treatment approach, backed by scientifically proven therapy methods like EMDR trauma therapy, Polyvagal herapy and ancient Asian healing techniques. 

I put great emphasis on showing you various relaxation techniques you can use for yourself at home in between sessions. Breathwork and meditation techniques are easy to learn and will help you to self-regulate when necessary. 

Imagine you want to climb a very steep mountain. You will have to walk yourself, but it will be so much easier to walk up to the summit with an experienced mountain guide. This is exactly my job, to guide you along the way to a happier and more fulfilling life.

Due to my professional experience working in England and Spain for several years I can offer therapy sessions both in English and Spanish at native-speaker level.

Online Therapy

Online therapy is a great alternative if you can’t visit my practice.

 

I offer counselling and EMDR therapy sessions in German, English and Spanish via a secure platform that meets all the required standards of data protection. 

 

Online sessions can also be booked from abroad.

About me

Communication is key and a passion of mine.

I first studied a Master’s Degree in Translation and Interpretation which gave me the opportunity to live and work in different countries and to get to know different cultures and understandings of life.

While living and working abroad I came across many challenges and experienced the anxiety that goes hand in hand with leaving your comfort zone and experiencing change. Thus, I decided to take up my second studies to become a licenced psychologist. Until this day I put all my passion in continuous further formation in order to always be up to date about new scientific insights and therapy methods.
